We invite you to peaceful and picturesque Czorsztyn! Czorsztyn is an excellent base for visiting the Pieniny and Gorce mountains, Slovakia and the High Tatras. The house’s location by Czorsztyn Lake in the Pieniny mountains enables you to plan your leisure time with precision. Tourist attractions nearby include the castles in Niedzica and Czorsztyn, the Dunajec River Gorge, the church in Dębno, mountain trails, Czorsztyn Lake (reservoir), the Turbacz peak, sailing and skiing camps, and angling.

Lovers of active leisure activities will find many interesting attractions here - ski lifts with excellently prepared pistes, including the Kluszkowce Czorsztyn-Ski, Polana Sosny and Palenica ski lift in Szczawnica. We offer 2, 3 and 4-person rooms, with bathrooms and TV, wi-fi Internet access, a kitchen annex, a barbecue site, a car park, a swing and sandpit for children.

Czorsztyn is a village in Poland situated in the Małopolska Region, Nowy Targ district, Czorsztyn commune. It is located at the eastern edge of the Orava – Nowy Targ Valley (Kotlina Orawsko-Nowotarska), on the borderline of the Pieniny and Gorce mountains, by Czorsztyn Lake. The present Czorsztyn had been known as Czorsztyn Nadzamcze till the moment when the storage reservoir was created. The village of Czorsztyn itself was situated at the foot of the Czorsztyn Castle. A part of Czorsztyn comprising e.g. the seat of the Czorsztyn local government was located in the immediate vicinity of the junction situated about 1.5 km from the village of Czorsztyn, toward Nowy Targ.

The Medieval Castle in Czorsztyn

The castle in Czorsztyn - ruins of a 14th century Gothic castle situated on a hill above the Dunajec, within the boundaries of the Pieniny National Park. According to a tradition passed down by Długosz, the castle’s owner in 1246 was Piotr Wydżga. Contemporary historians do not confirm either Długosz’s story, or the version with Boleslaw the Chaste hiding here during the Tartar invasion of 1241, but they connect the origins of the castle with the activity of St. Kinga (Cunegunda) as the Lady of Stary Sącz, identifying the castle with a fortress called Wronin, which was documented in 1320. The castle underwent major expansion during the time of Kazimierz the Great. Its location on a protruding rock enabled control of a major part of the Dunajec Valley. Historical sources confirm that the castle played host to Kazimierz the Great, Ludwig of Hungary, Queen St. Jadwiga and Wladyslaw Warnenczyk. The castle also fulfilled the role of customs house, and was later the seat of district chiefs

The Medieval Castle in Niedzica

Niedzica - Castle - a village in Poland, located in the Małopolska Region, Nowy Targ district, Łapsze Niżne commune. Between 1975 and the administrative reorganisation of 1998 it was within the Nowy Sącz Region. The village is located by Czorsztyn Lake and borders with Niedzica, Falsztyn and, through Czorsztyn Lake, with Czorsztyn. The 14th century Dunajec castle is situated at the southern edge of the village, by the boundary with Niedzica. The village was founded by a |Spisz nobleman, Rudger of Tyrol, conferred by King Andrew II of Hungary in 1209 and for centuries it was part of the Hungarian state. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary it was eventually allocated to Poland in 1920 for ethnic reasons, along with Zamagurze.
